Brightlingsea First Responders

March 26, 2018

As Spring is now upon us and hopefully we have seen the last of the snow (I still expect to hear Bing Crosby singing “I’m dreaming of a White Easter”!) we are now just around the corner from what is traditionally the busiest time of the year for house buying and selling, we have decided to give people using our services the opportunity of assisting a very worthwhile local service, Brightlingsea Community First Responders.

The First Responders in Brightlingsea are in their 20th year now and offer a valuable service to the local community. The EZ001 team is made up of volunteers, with one member always on call to assist the ambulance service in often life-threatening situations including cardiac arrests and heart attacks. In fact, the Brightlingsea group is believed to be the first of its kind in the country.

Volunteers are unpaid, all live in the town, travel in their own cars, and use signage on their vehicles to identify themselves rather than blue lights. With the team so close to calls, community first responders are key to helping reach life-threatening emergencies and administering vital medical assistance prior to the arrival of the Ambulance.

To support this wonderful group of people, Abode Mortgages Limited will donate £50 for every mortgage or re-mortgage that we sign up between the 1st April and the 30th June, that subsequently proceeds to legal completion. Just quote the reference Brightlingsea First Responders when making your appointment.
